F-Secure Ok…..
I Really want to download limewire but I am very scared about the viruses.
My virus protection is F-secure..
I know that limewire has no virus when you download it..but when you actually download a song..how do you know about the virus or not..
People are saying be careful and stuff but..I don’t get it!..
How do you know that there will be a virus in the file sharing!!!!!!!!
Please help guys!

Through Limewire you share files with other computer which may or may not be infected. You simply can’t know if he person you’re connecting to has a clean pc so there are chances for you to download a file that is infected. The user may as well be unaware of the infection if the antivirus he is using didn’t report anthing, if it uses one of course.
You can trust no-one when entering networks so having an antivirus and a good firewall is crucial!

The answer is simple. Don’t use Limewire. It’s illegal and the reason that viruses are there is because it is free and people can do whatever they want with their files. Get a subscription and pay for your music.
I have used Limewire in the past and never had a problem with it. I only used it to d/l songs I had already bought on cd though because I couldn’t be bothered copying whole discs onto my computer…anyways, check the size of the file before you d/l it and scan the file before you use it. If there’s a random number after the file name then it’s safer not to d/l it.

Limewire is not elligal and if you have a good virus protection you will have no problems. I have used it for quite some time with no problem legal or otherwise.
id avoid limwire, there is definitely spyware
use emule, open source, a little more complicated though
